"The Big Question"

The topic I finally decided to choose was emotion. As humans we have such a wide range of emotions. Why are some people more emotional and sensitive than others? How can actors drastically change their portrayal of emotions within seconds? Certain memories might bring back those same emotions..or your emotions could change over time?
Are there qualities or skills that enable people to remember change or cope with their emotions more effectively than others?

  1. This looks like a great start. Different fields (chemistry, psychology, and anthropology, to name a few) have examined this topic from very different perspectives. Think about what interests you; we'll look into databases in class on Monday.

  2. Interesting!
Which question do you plan to focus on the most? I want to hear about the research plan you've got going!

  3. You may want to look into the major faiths, Christianity, Judiasm, Buddhism, and other Eastern philosphies. The focus of many Eastern philosophies are based in the search of self control, or controlling one's emotions. Also, you may want to look into the triggers of different emotions. What incidents make us feel the way we feel? How does the external world affect and contribute to our mental selves and how does the emotional state of one person affect the state of another being who they came in contact with?
If you do plan to pursue this, let me know and I will help you out the best I can because my question is pretty similar to yours.
